Returning to Kwantlen for the first time since graduating brought back many memories and familiar faces from my time completing my HR degree, and I have to say that it is not a biased opinion to say that it was one of the best Career fairs that I have been to in a long time. The fair was extremely well organized and a great turn out from both employers and students, and will likely lead to a few applications to the Naval Reserve.
I also had the opportunity to reconnect with a few former classmates whom I had graduated with in April 2012, and found that they had successfully found careers in HR. Talking with them certainly helped me realize my own potential to find employment outside the military. Additionally, they shared a few tips and tricks that will undoubtedly prove useful in my career search.
I also took the opportunity to network with a few of the other exhibitors, it was interesting discussing the challenges each organization is facing in their individual recruiting efforts. I left the Career Fair with a few new prospects for the Naval Reserve and a few leads for myself, so it was a successful event all around.
